We elected to go for this kind of a system as opposed to those from the other bosses in the God Wars Dungeon to make sure nobody felt like they were risking for nothing, and to ensure Iron players willing to brave the bosses have a fair chance at being rewarded for their efforts. We want to clarify that we'd like these drops to behave similarly to drops at Nex, meaning every player gets a slice of the pie but MVPs are the most likely to see some of the big ticket items. Players wanted to know more about how the drops at the multi-way combat bosses were planned to be distributed. However, we intend to implement the fee in a way that can be adjusted post-launch if required. We need to find a balance where the fee discourages raggers, without being so high that it makes legitimate players unwilling to visit the areas - after all, they may feel their risk to be much higher already after these updates. Players overall were in favour of the proposed fee system, while opinions were split as to whether or not 50k felt like a fair amount We need to review the points per hour and reward weightings to balance things out, but we hope this is a sensible alternative. We'd like to add it to the Volcanic Mine. Players were in favour of adding a skilling-focused means of obtaining the Dragon Pickaxe. Upon entering a boss lair, your only way out will be the boss lair exit, which will take you through to the Escape Caves. We saw some players express concerns that the bosses would all be close together within the same environment and would like to make clearer that each boss lair is its own defined environment. We've added an image highlighting the proposed locations of the various entrances and exits to/from the boss lairs and Escape Caves. There was some confusion around the actual layout of the caves, as well as where entrances might sit on the Wilderness surface Perhaps these single-way alternatives could be Callisto's cousin, Venenatis' gossiping neighbour or Vet'ion's locally elected representative? After seeing so many players react positively to their inclusion, we're confident in offering them and will be pursuing a lore-friendly means to introduce them to the game. Players expressed confusion over the implementation of the single-way combat alternatives.Īt the time of writing the blog, these were a relatively new addition to the design. The multi-way combat bosses would still prove the fastest means of acquiring them, and still remain significantly better gold per hour for players willing to take the risk. However, we'd like to take a leaf out of the Gauntlet's book and offer these new uniques at drastically reduced rates from the single-way alternatives. Players weren't sure whether or not the proposed 'Single-way combat' alternatives to the reworked bosses would drop the new uniques This might also prove a nice buff to Wilderness Slayer, which could use a little love too! We'd like to propose allowing both Thammaron's and the Accursed Sceptre to autocast spells from your current spellbook. Some players expressed disappointment that the proposed changes to Thammaron's Sceptre (and the Accursed Sceptre) did not include the ability to autocast Ancient Magicks, feeling that this would make Wilderness Slayer considerably more attractive than it is currently. We're still in discussions at this stage so any suggestions you might have for alternatives could help us shape a revised offering! The relevant section of the blog has been updated to reflect our desire to makes changes to Bear Down. We've seen people asking for knockbacks, or to disable run temporarily (rather than draining run energy). Players seemed happy overall with the proposed upgraded Revenant weapons, but some felt that the Ursine Chainmace's Special Attack (Bear Down) was a little underwhelming. We'd also like to fix a bug where High-risk world skulls currently don't affect the Revenant Caves drop table. This feels like a good opportunity to address long-standing concerns regarding their rarity and likely won't affect gold per hour rates too much, since most of the profits here are made up of alchables and other drops. We'd like to propose a boost to the drop rates on these weapons from Revenants. Many players expressed concerns that the existing Revenant weapons (Craw's Bow, Viggora's Chainmace and Thammaron's Sceptre) are exceedingly rare, meaning their supply would limit the availability of their proposed upgrades, thus decreasing the value of the attachments. Please continue to let us know your thoughts using the survey towards the end of the post, and engaging in discussion across any of the platforms linked at the end of the post! Note: with the release of Tombs of Amascut on August 24th, it will be a little while before we're next able to update this blog.
